Is anyone or has anyone ever been a agency producer for a insurance company?

I got offered a job the other day with Farmers Insurance Group for a agency producer. Has anyone ever done this or is anyone currently doing it ? Is it a good job?
Your input is really appreciated. Thanks!

yes, I was a producer for an agency. Farmer’s is a company. I can find out what it is like now because I stay in contact with the people who are still doing this work. You can send me your email address if you want to find out more….I think you might be a contractor so ask if you will be an employee. If you are a contractor you will pay a self employment tax you wouldn’t have as an employee & you will have to pay for your own health insuance. Are they going to supply you with leads that makes a huge difference if you you have to get your own that might be hard to do. If you are working on commision only will you get a drawl. That is money to get you through until your commisions start coming in. I used to actually have a home office so you might even be able to do that. We were supposed to make good money because you sell a policy & then make a commision renewal amount but I think alot changed & the people who stayed in didn’t really make as much as they expected. They expected to take it easy later on & live off the commisions coming in but things were changed so they had to keep working. You can also email me if you have any specific questions. It might be better to do some other work for Farmers because some people make out better if they have benefits & a regular salary.

"Agency producer" basically means you will be selling insurance to people. If you are a good sales person, understand insurance (ugh, too many people who sell it really don’t), and don’t mind making most, if not all, of your money on commission then it can be a good position.
