Today I had planned to do a load of work. I was up at 6.30, at the grocery store by 8.30 and finished shopping by 9…went to the fabric store and stumbled out with my bags about 10.30, home by 11, check emails and I’m still here at 1.30! I have to leave to get kids at 2.40pm. So, what to do in an hour? What happened to my day?
Well I found this… Feed Your Soul, (a free art project) and love it!
Printed this one and put it above my desk. (and a few others!)

I read this blog post, Feeling Joy and all the comments and realised that it’s okay to let the day be.
And I remembered this…

awesome painting by my amazing and talented daughter, Mia.
And I felt better.

How adorable is this felted wool rabbit made by Nancy Bevin of Motley Mutton? Made with wool grown on her own farm no less. You can see more great stuff from Nancy on her website, etsy and she also sells on ebay. I swear this rabbit looks like he’s just about to say something…

and this little guy cracks me up!

check out this needle felted Conan O’Brien from Felt Alive

I had never heard of needle felting, it’s quite interesting and after watching a couple of tutorials about it on youtube I really appreciate the work that has gone into these pieces.

My sushi apron from my Made It store is to be a prize in the inaugural Made It website competition. I’m not sure how it’s going to work, I think everyone on their mailing list will get an email about it so watch out for it. The sushi apron is one of my fav’s. (thank you Mia for wearing that hat!)

A change in working arrangements for me has meant I am away from my computer and sewing machine three days a week so on the days these all important links to the ‘real?’ world are at hand I will be jamming in as much blogging and sewing that is humanly possible. Tomorrow is a big sewing day, I will have some quilty blankets to show you and they will be over in my made it store by the 19th. If you’re lucky enough to have a bundle of joy that needs wrapping up, take a look, they will be somewhat like this…

Completely unrelated, check out this great artist Chris Jordan. Here is a sample of his work from his series Running the Numbers An American Self-Portrait.
Depicts 32,000 Barbies, equal to the number of elective breast augmentation surgeries performed monthly in the US in 2006.

See more amazing work on his website.

I am addicted to drawing these ladies!

This is Elizabeth. She has a secret.

This one has no name, which is really sad and a bit mean, if anyone can think of a good name for her let me know. She is waiting. (not for you to giver her a name, just in general! or maybe that is what she is waiting for??)
Kelly (see comment below) has named her Caroline! Thank you, I think it’s perfect for her. Now she is waiting in general.

Here is my dear Blanche. She is out for the day, she has two places to visit, the Art Gallery and the Museum. She will be out all day.

Bye for now.

I got this very sweet brooch yesterday at The Lucky Duck in Brunswick Heads..the artist is Paol.
It’s good to see some local art being sold locally as opposed to all the imported stuff. Check out his website to see what else he has, his art is refreshingly affordable.
