It cost 3% for the government to administer national health care. It cost private insurance companies 25% to administer.
That’s a difference of 22%. Tell you what, we’ll split it with you. You keep 11% in your pocket and we’ll give the other 11% to increase our military personnel pay.

Probably not. Insurance agents are pretty smart and can probably find other work. There’s always the home insurance, life insurance, and auto insurance industries.

who cares about them, they are out to rip you off. health care will only get bigger with the baby boomer generation now at retirerment age. there will always be jobs for any part of the health field for another 30 years anyway

i think you’re forgetting how many things national health care will provide (surgical, prenatal, dental, cancer treatment, etc.) and how many jobs it will create.

Welfare, don’t know, maybe some, but definitely the unemployment rate will go much, much higher. My son isn’t in the insurance business, but has been laid off since October of 2008.
If the Canadians come to the USA for health care now, where will they go when Obamacare is here? Oh, and to reply on the comment of receiving better health care, when you are 70 and need a cancer saving drug and 22 and need it, guess who will get it? Certainly not both, ask the Canadians.
P.S. Never heard the term Obamacare, I like it!

No, they will go work for the gov. This is just competition for the rip offs we have been paying for….I sold auto insurance for many years. Since 911 so much has changed. I wanted to go back into it but it is a mess now….OK, so my boss made half a million dollars a year & worked much less than I did….so with the gov. competition they can put someone in his chair & pay pay them $80,000 a year & they still will have a great job & income for what they do. Can you imagine where the difference in that money will go…it can go to us by us not having to pay what we pay not for auto & home insureance. or they could keep our rates high & take that money & pay towards our debt or invest it is good things so we live in a beautiful, healthy country.

I suspect a number of them will go on unemployment, before transitioning to more productive employment.
Of course, it really depends on what the job market is doing at that point in time.
