I am 18 and just bought a Nissan Altima 08. I live in California, Los Angeles. I am trying to get insured and they want to charge me $3000 a year. Thats $250 a month for car insurance. Its more then my car payments. Anyone know any insurance company that can offer a better deal?
Cheap and 18 is an oxymoron. Add CA to the mix and it gets worse. Then factor in an almost new car…

I have a car accident that was the other driver’s fault, yet since he presented a witness, i am being unfairly treated. Can i demand from the car insurance company to administrate a lie detector test to that witness?

No… but usually witnesses are listed on the police report so people can’t go back and have one of their friends do this very thing. Was the witness on the police report?
I was in a car accident one month ago and have been passed on to a third claims adjuster. I started the claim three weeks ago and sent police report, photos of my rear-ended car, medical bills, collision estimates and still haven’t heard anything.
I don’t have collision coverage so my insurance company won’t do anything.

my car insurnace company is called "Access General" and they give horrible service. They don’t except credit cards yet. Do you believe that? They send bills late and always give overall bad service. Eventhough they are a third party insurance company I only stay with them because their rates are cheap and affordable. How is your insurance companies service?

Your current policy is an average but still very good monthly payment. BUT you should know that it is high because of the explorer- this vehicle has numerous safety recalls issued by Ford Motor Corporation themselves. The insurance company is taking advantage of you because of this fact alone. So sell this quick! Buy a copy of Consumer Report’s Guide to New and Used Cars and Trucks at your local book store for very detailed info on your Explorer. Down south I pay full coverage for 3 vehicles and it is just 1 payment of 184.63 for 6 months of coverage. Find that in NY state- not gonna happen ( those crooks! ). What aggitates me is why these insurance companies use your credit report for figuring out your insurance rates. I mean, how does having bad credit tell the insurance company what type of driver you are?!? Your credit report has NOTHING at all to do with how you or anyone else drives!!!!!!!!The reason for this is so that the insurance company can make even MORE money off of you and it is because they are looking at the high or low probability that you may make your payment to them on time or not based on your credit history..

To me, the best insurance is the cheapest, but will choose a major name company which currently is GEICO for the car I have now, but was AllState for the car I had prior and was State Farm before that.
I heard horror stories as well as good things about all insurance companies and they were all from people with different experiences.
It is also wise to ask what a total price for all your insurance needs would be through one company. A combined auto, motorcyle, house and life insurance can save you alot of money.
Since I started driving 9 years ago I have had Liberty Mutual car insurance. I’m not happy with them right now. I was in an accident 6 months ago and they refused to fight it for me. In 9 years I have never had an accident before. I called AAA auto insurance and they gave me a quote. I also called Allstate and they also gave me a quote. These quotes are including the accident that I was in. Which company would you go with? I’m rulling out Mercury.
