July 17, 2010 - 2:51 am 2 Comments

I live in Virginia

My insurance covered my log home for a very good price, I was even surpised I thought it would be higher.
Insurance I use is Allstate, in Alaska.

Hope that helps

Should car and homeowner’s insurance companies be required to cover pre-existing conditions?

No, but then again I don’t equate my health, my well-being and my medical care with my car or my home. The differing concepts may be too difficult for some people to understand.

On the other hand, some people have lost their cars and their homes because they could not pay their medical bills. Perhaps that is where you see a connection.

Just adopted a boxer-pitbull mix, do I need to let my homeowner insurance company know?

We bought a house a couple years ago, just adopted a mixed dog, mostly boxer, part pit. Do we need to tell our homeowners insurance?

Read your policy and see if the animal is coverd first. If you don’t see what your looking for call the company. Mine was insured thru my homeowners but most aren’t. I have always had large, supposedly considered vicious breed dogs and was suprised to see that my homeowners did cover them. Also, check with your vet. They have info on pet insurance for both medical for the animal and incase of incident with the animal. Good Luck.

are there homeowners insurance companies in ohio for homes w/ german shepherd dogs?

July 17, 2010 - 2:38 am 4 Comments

i understand alot of insurance companies wont do homeowners insurance if you have german shepherd dog. do you know any in ohio who will provide homeowners insurance if you have a german shepherd dog?

Sure there are! I’m an insurance agent in Ohio and we sell a couple of great companies that don’t have a problem with German Shepherds. (Smart dogs btw)

Anyway, I would stay away from branded agents like State Farm or Allstate agents just because you have no choices that way. Call an independent agent who can offer you a few choices. Usually the breeds we have a harder time finding coverage for are dobermans, pit bulls, and rotties.

Good luck and if you run into problems, feel free to IM me.

Rachel

Which homeowner’s insurance companies won’t insure you if you have a husky?

July 17, 2010 - 2:38 am 3 Comments

i was just wondering because i know Liberty Mutual won’t, and me and my husband are currently looking for home insurance so i just wanted to know which companies won’t insure you if you have a husky, that way i won’t waste my timing calling the ones that won’t, and also if you know which ones will insure you would be great! thanks so much!
the only reason i’m asking is because according to liberty a husky is 1 of 9 aggressive breeds… i didn’t think we’d have a problem either up until now so

Here’s a good link from AKC about which insurance companies have black listed certain breed owners. Farmers nor State Farm have this policy and are only against owners who have had previous bite claims or own vicioius dogs.

Are there any well known and reliable insurance companies in Florida that provide homeowner’s insurance?

July 17, 2010 - 2:31 am 3 Comments

Seems that every insurance company is leaving Florida.

I suggest speaking with an insurance broker familiar with Florida. A broker works with several companies and can find the best rates and coverage for you. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.homeownerswiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you. Good luck!

Are there any homeowner’s insurance companies in MA that carry liablility coverage for trampolines?

July 17, 2010 - 2:31 am 2 Comments

Which ones are they?

First of all, I have NOT seen a liability EXCLUSION for trampolines. That’s why companies cancel you, if you get one. So I don’t think you can buy "coverage for trampolines".

Secondly, trampoline claims are actually a higher dollar payout, than dog bite claims, and thats why insurance companies don’t want to cover it.

I don’t know of any carriers who WILL write a homeowners policy if you own a trampoline.

But you can always lie on the application (not recommended), and when the trampoline claim comes in, you can pay it out of pocket – six or seven figures, if you’re talking about a child being paralized.
