LOUISIANIAN—What are some of the medical insurance companies that are in the state?

July 17, 2010 - 3:11 am 1 Comment

My parents both have retired and some how they have been slipped in a loop hole where now they do not have medical insurance. They are both 62 years old and have been denied by three different medical insurance companies in the state of Louisiana for pre-existing medical problems (most common—high blood pressure). If something happens to them they have to go to a charity hospital that is about 2 hours away (so basicly they will die if it is something major). They make too much money on retirement to qualify for Medicare, but can’t seem to get they insurance company that they have been using for 20 something years to pick them up now! I was against Obama’s plan, but now when it hits home, you kind of start to think about it more and more.

If you make too much money from retirement income you can’t get medicare?

Will medical insurance companies cover treatments such as laser surgery for severe acne scarring?

You should read your coverage plan. Each insurance company is different. I’d wager to say that most consider that "cosmetic" and won’t cover it.

Medical Insurance Companies are the problem. Why not universal healthcare without the insurance companies?

July 17, 2010 - 3:07 am 7 Comments

I hate Health Insurance Companies. They are the biggest problem. Everyone dislikes the quality of their health insurance. So why not get rid of them and have universal health care. No more bills. No more harassing calls to pay bills. No more straightening out incorrect billing. No more hassling denied claims. No more giant medical bills. No more loosing homes to pay bills. No more nuts running around without their meds. Just no more. Why is this something anyone would be against. It has nothing to do with our great medical system. It is about the very bad health insurance companies.

I agree, we should have universal health care.
If we can spend billions of dollars a year on war, we can provide health care for Americans.
Those presently working for the insurance carriers could switch to the universal plan to ward off job losses.

Why do people continue to complain about medical bills and insurance companies?

Here’s an idea to use if you don’t want to pay medical bills…

Don’t get sick. FACT.

Ah yes – the stupidity of the political right is now complete – FACT.

Should we have socialized medicine, or keep in medical insurance companies?

During this next election which side will win, military complex or medical insurance companies?

July 17, 2010 - 2:56 am 7 Comments

If any Republican wins the presidential election the "military complexities" will be enhanced and the war will continue for years to come, and our constitutional liberties will be compromised even more than they are today.

If the next president of the United States is Obama, the cost of medical insurance will most likely be reduced that we can afford a plan, and the war will end.

Interesting. Did I come close to answering this? Probably not.

do you think medical insurance companies are economical good income?

July 17, 2010 - 2:56 am 4 Comments

i think they must make good money from the people paying that insurance
not all of them need serios medical treatement so ,on young people they make the income they need for sever sik people and there still remains a lot of money for the company and the workers and all the needs of the company
so is a good investment??

Health insurers are in a really tough business these days. They face significant and unpredictable liability costs, huge amount of regulations at both the State and Fed level.

In your place, I would stay away from investing in such companies. You’d be a lot better off investing in an index mutual fund.

If you need clarification, contact me through "Answer" and I will edit my response.

Can medical insurance companies be considered creditors?

July 17, 2010 - 2:56 am 3 Comments

No, they do not extend you credit. If you miss a premium, your policy lapses.

Does health insurance companies keep a record of all your medical information?

July 17, 2010 - 2:56 am 4 Comments

Say I use my insurance card to get a check up or buy medical supplies, do the insurance company keep records of what I do with my card and can people like my family access that information?

they probably do have records, for billing purposes. no one should be able to access that info. unless they have a power of attorney, or health proxy. and if you call your insurance company to specify that no one be allowed to access that information, then that should help that no one will be able to access the info .

want contacts of insurnace companies dealing in Medical insurance

Since this is posted in the US, I’m going to assume you are traveling to Kenya from the US.

I hope this helps for people traveling away from their home country they can purchase international medical insurance. I recommend International Medical Group. http://www.imglobal.com/

This coverage is good for US citizens traveling abroad as well as for foreign nationals traveling to the US.

I suggest checking out their website then call the 800 number and have a rep walk you through your options.
