What are good Insurance companies in my case?

Thanks

Check around with various local independent insurance agents.

Be sure to ask for one that specializes in motorcycle insurance.

There are about 5 or 6 companies that specialize in motorcycle insurance – Progressive, Dairyland, AIG, Foremost, Pacific Specialty, American Modern Home – just to name a few.

Just remember a good rule of thumb: The closer you can come to sitting up STRAIGHT to ride, the LOWER your insurance rates will be. The more you have to lean FORWARD or become more HORIZONTAL to be able to ride the bike, the HIGHER your insurance will be.

Check it out!

Ride RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!

What company has the best motorcycle insurance in Maryland?

July 16, 2010 - 8:20 pm 4 Comments

I have progressive on my car and bike…..They were the best price both times i shopped for it. My driving record was pretty terrible when I put my car with them, but they worked with me and got an excellent price.

Their customer service is awesome, you can renew, change and modify on the internet… I couldn’t be happier (they even gave me money back one time when they said they were overcharging me, I already thought I was getting a great deal!!)

What is the cheapest company to get motorcycle insurance for a young (20 yr old) driver?

July 16, 2010 - 8:15 pm 8 Comments

Geico is not offered in my state.

allstate. I live and work at an agent in WV and you can reinstate & suspend your bike when you’re not riding it so you’re not paying for all those raining days you can’t ride! go to Allstate.com and look for a local agent.. wouldn’t hurt to try!

[i'm 20 too all insurance for our age is HIGH :-( ]

good luck!

also if you have your auto & bike in the same place it should give you a discount!

Will my health insurance go up if I buy a motorcycle?

July 16, 2010 - 8:15 pm 2 Comments

Lets say I have health insurance through a parent, and I purchase a motorcycle. Will there be any consequence for the health insurance deductions or benefits that we receive through the health insurance company? Also, how could a health insurance company find out about the motorcycle in the first place?

No it does not change if you buy a vehicle…so be happy and go for it.

Insurance question about accident with parked motorcycle?

July 16, 2010 - 8:15 pm 4 Comments

A minivan rental car backed into my motorcycle today and caused a whole bunch of damage.

Is it possible my insurance rates will go up even if I’m not at fault? Because the bike was parked when this happened (no one driving) do I need to tell insurance companies about it when shopping for a new policy?
also, who is responsible in this case: the rental car agency or the drivers personal insurance?

If your bike was parked when it was hit then there is no reason for your rates to increase. Insurance companies increase rates for auto accidents that you are at fault for only. They would not "punish you" for doing nothing wrong.

Secondly, accidents with rental cars can be tricky. I would definetly file a claim with both the rental agency as well as the person’s own personal auto insurance. Each policy may have conditions or clauses as to whether or not the accident would be covered.

And if it gets to be too much of a mess, make the claim with your own company to get your bike repaired. Your company will then in turn collect the money back from the responsible party.

Hope this helps!

motorcycle insurance for Kawasaki ninja 250R?

July 16, 2010 - 8:15 pm 4 Comments

I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the costs for the insurance for a Kawasaki ninja 250R. i am 18 and iv never received a ticket so i believe that my driving record is clean.I don’t have any insurance policy of my own yet. Will my insurance costs be through the roof because of my age or do they just go of the cc of the bike? also i know the cost will depend on the company so your opinions on the best motorcycle insurance company would be greatly appreciated. :] thank you
I live in California and i am probably looking for full coverage but if that is to pricey then just liability.

Help yourself – you can check your quotes in internet, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com

Dairyland insurance company for motorcycle?

July 16, 2010 - 8:09 pm 9 Comments

How can they issue me registration over the phone? I’m located in Michigan and the local office has a different price then what I was quoted over the phone. Over the phone I pay $168, the office said it would be $330. I don’t feel uncomfortable getting insurance over the phone but looks like I may have to. Is this okay to do and has anyone else done this before?
Geico doesn’t insure motorcycles in Michigan and Progressive coverage is $199 for no liability.
I called progressive and they are $199, Dairyland is $168 so guess I will be going with them since I’ve never heard of anyone having problems with them. Plus I’m getting no fault anyway.

I had Dairyland for a few years until American Family decided Harleys aren’t so bad. Dairyland had the best price and good year round coverage. I never had a claim, but I know people who did, and they had no problems. I was quoted a price and that’s what I paid. I don’t know why you are getting two prices. Call a local agent that handles Dairyland. Geico sucks and Progressive is way to expensive for big bikes.

When are you going to get rid of your helmet law? I’m waiting so I can ride the UP.

for a 25 year old whose had his M1 license for 8 years but hasn’t ridden one since he got his license. if he doesn’t tell the insurance company that he hasn’t ridden in so long, assuming it doesn’t affect him getting the lowest price, how much is motorcycle insurance?

It will vary. Shop through a broker.

I’m a student, and I’ve received one speeding ticket within the last five years. My record is pretty clean. Looking for full coverage. who is your insurance company?

Shop around. Progressive seems to be pretty good for young riders.
Insurance for men under age 27 is pretty high everywhere, though.
