Do they look at different things?

Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples, IE, the same coverage for each quote. That could be part of it. If you are, there is a difference between companies, which is the reason you are getting quotes in the first place. If they all charged the same there would be no reason to shop around, would there?

If I might suggest, find a local independent agent that is not tied to any particular company and have them find what is best for you in your situation.

I am 26 Years old and I don’t have health insurance. I was looking online and saw that there a alot of health insurance plans you can buy online. I was thinking about doing this but I wasn’t sure how safe and legitamet it was. So if there is anyone who has had experiences good or bad please help me out.

Depending on where you reside there are several options that are very good. And some of these you can purchase on line.

mbrcatz17 is being a little over cautous in this case. We have several carriers that are on our website that you can purchase on line – and they are legit.

A good rule of thumb is to stay with the bigger named carriers like:

Blue Cross, Wellpoint, United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana etc.

Dont fall for the no-name company’s. Most of the above carriers offer the ability for you to purchase on line, directly through the carrier website – or through the agent/brokers website.

When people purchase insurance through our website with out contacting us it really bothers me. The reason is there are so many options availble and so many differences between the plans that it always helps to use a local agent/broker that has knowledge and understanding of the plans that are in your area.

i saw that insurance companies ask for some personal information when it comes to giving an online quote, so i’m trying not to give it to all of the weird companies that come up in a general search, and i was also interested to know if its worth the effort

Let me start with the more information you give an insurance company the more accurate the quote will be for you. If you give them have the info your price will like change. Many companies will sell you a price a not coverage. I would recommend talking with a broker they will quote you with many companies and find out which one is best for you. Good Luck.

Health Insurance companies require you to be a dependent to be under your parents health insurance. Meaning your parents still support you monetarily. Students in College are covered as well, is that not correct? So if I was traveling abroad and was taking online classes would I still be covered under my parents health insurance?

Well, just from my own experience:

The insurance company did cover me under my parents until I was 18 with no school required OR till I was 21 with school (I think, but because now I’m 38 don’t quite remember). So, as long as I was a "full time student" i I was covered. i went to "independant studies" and that counted as full time. Now, I don’t reccomend this, but there was a short time that I Enrolled in more classes (at my local JC) than I was going to be able to do. Then I proved to insurance I was full time and then I dropped some of them. I am not usually unethical, and I hate to say this, but screw those rip off artists and I needed to work and go to part time school, so I did what I had to. I think there may have been a clause about living at home too, I forgot. The best way would be to ask, maybe in a generic "a friend of mine wants to know" kind of way.

Where can I purchase car insurance online? I heard that this can be done and would really save me a lot of time and hassle. But I would need to do a comparison first. Or is there any car insurance companies that you guys would recommend? I’m from Indiana by the way.

It’s very hard to recommend a car insurance company for each individual. It all depends on your needs basically and also your budget.

There is no good online source. Any insurance website is going to "low-ball" the premium, likely skipping options and underwriting issues that will affect the price. More importantly, life insurance is an intricate financial tool and should ONLY be obtained as part of a comprehensive financial plan through or under the direction of a properly qualified planner or advisor. I will be quitting my job soon to be a stay at home mom, thus losing my medical insurance. My husband’s insurance through his company is very expensive due to it being so small (only 20 or so people in the company). I will need to find a health insurance plan for my family, but am having a hard time finding any plans that have good coverage and don’t have a large premium amount. Does anyone know of a good health insurance company I should look at? Please keep in mind I live in Alabama….a lot of the insurance companies online only apply to certain states. Thanks a bunch.

You need to go to a local, independent agent, and ask for quotes. They’ll have the ones with providers in your area.

If you have no preexisting conditions, and you’re around 30, it’s GOING to cost YOU, $250 a month, your HUSBAND $250 a month, and the KIDS, $200 a month EACH. Is that cheaper than your husband’s plan?

If you have preexisting conditions, they will be excluded, OR, you might flat out be declined.

that’s JUST what health insurance costs. Or, you sacrifice coverage, OR, you take a $5,000 deductible before the insurance kids in, OR, you sign up for a health discount plan where no one takes the plans, OR you get scammed from over the internet.

You CAN’T buy a brand new cadillac for $10, you CAN’T get family health insurance with comprehensive coverage for $120 a month, except through an employer.
