Insurance Companies

I’m going to be financing a 2008 Kia Spectra and all the big name auto insurance companies gave me outrageous quotes, from about $3200 to $4000 a year with high monthly payments (I’m 19). I’m going to be calling some independent insurance companies tomorrow to get quotes but in advance I was just wondering if they are generally cheaper? That way I can sleep tonight without worrying what I’ll be paying =P
