Will New york city have a mandatory investigation on the pilot who claims birds brought his plane down?
July 17, 2010 - 5:53 am
The only type of plane birds just about knocked a engine out was a single engine jet, are new yorkers out of there minds to believe birds knocked this plane down into the hudson river, geese no wonder your not sure who was behind 9/11, listen up kids, there needs to be a investigation on the crash and pilot and that investigation must be handed to the passengers and the insurance companies, other wise they can still SUE this airline.
Yes. an investigation is ALWAYS mandatory.
–And yes, even a flock of small birds flying into an engine can bring down an airliner.

FAA and the NTSB investigate every single airplane crash there is. they will produce a comprehensive report but it takes awhile.

You’re one of those nasty people that just wants to sue somebody and stuff our courts with pointless lawsuits. Birds can bring down a jet engine, and you obviously haven’t done any research into the matter. That is why many airports work hard to keep birds from nesting in the area of runways and local flight paths. The reason that you don’t hear about it happening very often is because it is still rare and birds only fly at a certain altitude where as planes fly higher thus reducing the risk of birds getting into engines. Stop watching MSNBC and watch a real news channel.
Instead of trying to bring him down, why don’t you praise the pilot who saved those 150+ people’s lives by using quick thinking and impressive skills.

I guess it was reported to be a flock of geese — but one report that really caught my attention was that the pilot was said to have smelled charred bird before the plane went down. I’m wondering how he smelled it… isn’t the cock pit pretty well sealed tight? And wouldn’t the passengers have smelled it as well? Anyway it sounded a little suspect to me.

No airplane crash goes uninvestigated in the United States.

When a ten lb. object enters a turbine blade going 24,000 rpms the blades shatter becoming shrapnel blasting through the engine at Mach 3 or better. Your damn right birds take down jet engines. In a hurry! The investigation is up to NTSB and they have already looked at the one engine still on the aircraft. It was hulled. Indicating that the turbine blades exploded most likely from contact with a foreign object.

The investigations for the crashes on 9/11 where never taken place, you only heard about terrorists and a 2 page speech which Ariel Sharon had ready within 30 minutes of the scene!
They played the crash down, seriously the pilot has not spoken becuase he was legally advised not to and let the media and state cover it up.
If he is innocent then why has he not broke his silence?
We can not go on TV and call him a HERO yet, he could just had one too many viagras.

The NTSB is already investigating the crash. Both engines stopped running at the same time from bird strikes. In 2007, there were over seven thousand bird strikes on aircraft. Eighty percent of them were commercial aircraft.
Of course, you are a multi-engine rated aircraft pilot. So, you would already know that. Sorry they didn’t pass out that information booklet at the tin-foil hat store you were shopping at.

There is always an investigation done when planes crash.
But I have to agree with Patrick, You don’t know what you are talking about. Do a little research,
Get your facts straight, Color your face red. Then delete this question. Or better yet, Post an apology to that pilot who saved many, many lives.
