anyone know how i can research a psychologist?

July 19, 2010 - 12:41 am 3 Comments

Due to my insurance I am basically stuck picking a name blindly from my provider directory. Does anyone know of a site where they do psychologist reviews or any other place I may get some background on the one I made an appointment with? There is no info on the insurance companies site and i did several searches and nothing came up. thanks.

Does anyone have Avesis for a vision plan insurance?

July 18, 2010 - 10:46 pm 1 Comment

Okay so my employer changed vision insurance companies from VSP to Avesis are they a good company? Well just with my luck my eye doctor does not take them so I have to find a new doctor. Is Avesis a good insurance? I looked up doctor and they are taken by most of the walmarts. I did not want to go to walmart. Is Avesis like a cheep insurance? All the doctor in the directory I guess are with companies I did not want to go to. Well if you have them let me know if they are good or bad.
Sorry if my question does not go in this section but I figured this is the section where most of yo wear glasses and contacts and wanted your advise

I can tell you from the doctor’s perspective that Avesis SUCKS. That’s why you can’t find anyone who takes it but Walmart. I would suggest you talk to your regular eye doctor. Sometimes they’ll offer a discount to you if they don’t take your insurance, and it might make it worth it for you to stay there.

How do I go about cashing in an insurance policy if the company no longer exists.?

July 18, 2010 - 10:41 pm 7 Comments

I have three old insurance policies that are paid up. I want to cash them in for the face value. But the insurance company from which they were purchaced no longer has a listing in any directory. Where do I go to get my money?

Unless a life insurer has liquidated (which is very, very rare)…there is going to be a successor company.
In almost every state, there is an insurance trade association.
You should find the one for the state you are living in and call them. They have books that have successor companies in them and most trade associations can find out which company is now obligated to handle your claim.
Once you find out, call the successor company and tell them you wish to make a claim against a predecessor company.
They’ll gladly pay the claim. Good luck!

Is there a directory or similar showing whether a company’s call centres are UK/Ireland or India based?

July 18, 2010 - 6:37 pm 2 Comments

I want to change insurance company from Norwich Union as I have had awful bother trying to amend details on car, house and particularly travel insurance, and talking with people who I have difficulty listening to and talking to accurately, and who can rarely give me answers anyway.
Now it is very similar with BT in terms of email customer service based in India.
Before I change companies for phone or insurance I want to know I’m not going to have the same problems I’m trying to escape from.

Phone the companies for a quote, you might be able to tell from the person who answers if they are a British based call centre or a foreign based one.

How to make money selling insurance leads?

July 18, 2010 - 6:29 pm 2 Comments

I dont mean cold leads, I mean leads that are submitted and sold in
real time, the user clicks ’submit’ and instantly the buyer gets the lead.

I’ve seen this done 3 ways.

1. Sell the lead to a agent directory service like insweb, agentinsider, netquote etc.. and get paid from 7 to 11 dollars for the lead, simple. end of story.

2. Sell the lead directly to an insurance company. Let the user fill out the lead form and send it right to geico for instance, they pay about the same as the directory services.

3. Ask the customer to click each insurance companies logo, and fill out a quote request for each company (The webmaster gets alot more money for this, since they are selling virtually the same lead to many companies.)

I kind of want to do ‘3′ but without the customer having to fill out massive paperwork (internet paper work). If I were to write up my own form, have the customer fill it out, and send it to all the different insurance companies and directories.. would that be legal? Someone who knows what they are talking about please help me out.

I understand.

However, you would not be able to write up your own form, because the insurance business is a contractual business, and they would still have to fill out paperwork for the insurer. You can’t get around this step, as they have laws to abide by in each state. Your best bet would be to go with number 1, if you can set it up yourself. Agents will pay for real-time quotes, but sending papers in and transferring it to the agent at a later date … booo! The leads are stale. You have to catch people when they are ready to make, or considering making the buying decision. Any other type of lead is much less valuable, and agents know that there are too many "lead" programs out there with outdated phone numbers, wrong addresses or people who are just plain not interested any more because they were thinking about insurance 5 days before the agent knew to call them.
